Why You Should Trust Us With Your Retreat

Travel Is Our Middle Name

Erin Lyons and Brandon Copeland, travel couple and soulmates. Cheesy aside, our relationship was formed around travel – we met on a spring break cruise in the Bahamas and after a couple years of dating, decided to quit our jobs and take a year and a half trip around the globe. We made it 8 months (5 months South America, 3 months in India) before Covid-19 brought us home. However, we didn’t let that stop us – we decided to spend 3 months building out an empty cargo van into a pimped out camper van that we traveled in for 6 months while visiting every National Park in the continental US. Having visited 30+ countries and dreaming of visiting pretty much every other country in existence, it’s safe to say we know our way around! Yoga With Your Favorite Instructor

While I might be a little biased writing this (Brandon here), Erin is my favorite yoga instructor, and if you’re here she’s probably one of yours as well! Learning from the best instructors in the world at the birthplace of yoga in Rishikesh, India, Erin has in-depth knowledge of Vinyasa and Hatha yoga as well as the principles behind pranayama and meditation. With a background as a Dance major in college, you can expect her classes to have a great flow to them with seamless transitions and a structure that will lead you to a peak pose in a meaningful sequence. Her specialization of late has been arm balances and inversions – she has led countless workshops dedicated to the topic and is filled with serious joy whenever one of her students gets into their first headstand. Like utter joy. It’s cute.

Just The Two of Us....

We are 100% invested in our retreats because here at Atlas Yoga we are a company of 2 who want to create unique travel and yoga experiences for our guests. Every activity, location, vendor is chosen by us with the aim to provide a comfortable mix of rejuvenation and adventure. We like to keep our retreat groups small – this allows us to provide the best experience possible for everyone without compromising on quality. We love bringing together groups of likeminded people and seeing the growth and relationships that are formed in such a short time. At the end of the day, it’s all about community.

Our Team

Erin Lyons

Co-Founder, Yoga Instructor

Erin received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in Rishikesh, India from Rishikesh YTTC in early 2020 but has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. Erin graduated from Roger Williams University where she studied Dance & Performance Studies and Global Communications and currently teaches yoga classes full time all around New York City. Erin loves building connections, diving deeper into yoga, and most importantly making clients feel good.

Erin believes yoga is an unbelievable way to get in shape, gain flexibility, and build strength while finding a meditative experience. With her background in teaching dance and fitness, she approaches yoga with an anatomical mind and enjoys sharing knowledge of kinesiology with students to help them better understand how and why the body moves the way it does.

Brandon Copeland

Co-Founder, Logistics

Brandon is an Automation Engineer by day, but a travel and logistics guru by night (and also Erin’s husband). While he didn’t pursue yoga instruction, Brandon also received his 200 hour Yoga Instructor Certification in Rishikesh, India in 2020. He has a deep appreciation for yoga and continues his practice to this day.

Travel is his passion, and finding a way to travel inexpensively is his calling – travel hacking, credit card points, finding unique accommodations – it’s all in his wheelhouse. He assists with the backend of the retreats, whether it’s planning and logistics, website maintenance, or managing the financial outlook of the business – you know, the fun stuff!
