What's the Vibe

costa rica, latin america, river-4161509.jpg

You will have time for relaxation at our stunning property, with daily morning yoga classes that will challenge you paired with nightly classes that will calm you down and relax the senses. Exploring the local culture will be at the forefront of the experience – we will offer some guided experiences but will also have two free days to enjoy the beach, jungle, or excursion of your choice (recommendations to follow).

The motto in Costa Rica is “Pura Vida” which translates to “Pure Life”. This way of life is all about enjoying the simple pleasures – slowing down and cherishing the small moments. We will embrace this attitude for the retreat, allowing for plenty of time to relax and recharge, while also mixing in unique group travel experiences. You will look inward, and start your days with an invigorating vinyasa yoga class, and end your days around a communal dinner table with an awesome group of likeminded individuals and healthy food.

Balance is the key for a happy life, and we will do our best to provide a comfortable balance of adventure, tranquility, personal growth, community, and good old fashioned fun.

Meet Your Yoga Instructor: Erin Lyons

Erin received her 200 hour yoga teacher certification in Rishikesh, India from Rishikesh YTTC in early 2020 but has been practicing yoga for over a decade. She graduated from Roger Williams University where she studied Dance & Performance Studies and Global Communications and currently teaches yoga classes full time all around New York City. She loves building connections, diving deeper into yoga, and most importantly making clients feel good.

Erin created Atlas Yoga to fuse two of her favorite things – travel and yoga. Having traveled to 30 countries and hiked in 50 national parks around the US, it’s safe to say she knows a thing of two about what makes a travel experience memorable. Building upon these two passions, Atlas Yoga curates retreats that are the perfect combination of travel and yoga.

Property Amenities

Our property has a private gated drive that leads into a lush, jungle landscape complete with two inground pools, a waterslide, and a scenic wooden platform specifically for yoga. Enjoy the serenity of the grounds and soak up the sun in-between yoga classes and excursions.

What's the Location

You will be staying at a property 1 hour and 45 minutes from the Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) near San Jose, Costa Rica. With this location you get the best of both worlds – a beautiful, lush jungle but also just 15 minutes from the beach at Playa Hermosa and 20 minutes from the popular town Jaco Beach.

What's the Size of the Property

The property has a maximum capacity of 23 people, with 8 rooms spread across 5 different buildings. Excluding your hosts, Erin and Brandon, the maximum number of participants for the retreat is capped at 15 people. We are maintaining a smaller group to ensure everyone is comfortable and has plenty of space.

There are two large kitchens – one indoor, fully stocked kitchen and another outdoor kitchen with a grill. There is a large outdoor table where we will share meals prepared by our private chef.

The property from end to end is 115 yards with plenty of nooks, platforms, and secluded areas to read a book and relax in peace. There is an ocean view from the yoga platform in the distance and if you’re lucky you might see local wildlife like toucans and monkeys.

Highlight: Morning Vinyasa Yoga class with Erin

Erin’s vinyasa classes are dancey flows set to great music that will challenge you while offering modifications the whole time, making you leave class feeling good no matter what. Erin specializes in arm balances and inversions so the week retreat will be a great opportunity to dive deeper into the fundamentals of building strength and techniques to getting upside down. This retreat will allow you to have moments to safely attempt poses that otherwise may be intimidating during every day practice.

*It’s possible certain activities will move dates, or that the excursions may change minorly, but you can rest assured in that event they will be replaced with something of equal value and equally awesome.*

Pricing & Booking (Booking is Closed!)

We have different room types to cater to the different types of travelers we will be hosting. We have private suites as well as shared rooms. Pay close attention to the descriptions for each room, and select the appropriate option in the dropdown (when applicable).

If you have any questions about the retreat, please reach out to us.

Booking is closed!

You can fly directly into San Jose, Costa Rica (Juan Santamaria International Airport, SJO) – there are various options between JetBlue, Avianca, and United that are nonstop out of Newark or JFK, with various other options available with 1 stop. Some of the best flight options arrive at night so our recommendation is to fly in on Saturday, March 2nd, spend the night in San Jose, and then be fresh and ready for the retreat to begin on Sunday.

***Make sure that your passport is valid at minimum 6 months beyond the last day of the retreat***

Transportation will be provided to the property from a central location in San Jose on the afternoon of Sunday, March 3rd (exact time to be determined closer to retreat). We will have one van that can accommodate everyone if required.

The reason we are not offering a transfer from the airport to the property is because guests will fly in at different times (potentially the night before). It will be your responsibility to book a transfer from the airport to San Jose if you want to take this transportation option (Our recommendation is to use Welcome Pickups  – currently I see the price of $29 for a private car for up to 2 people). We can also help group guests together who are traveling at the same time to share a ride and split the cost.

If you are arriving later on Sunday, March 3rd and want to arrange transportation straight from the airport to the property, currently I am seeing $130 on Welcome Pickups, which is consistent with local rates. This is the same rate for 1 or 2 people, so if this option is necessary, you could potentially split it with a fellow guest with similar travel plans.

There will be two options provided for transportation from the property on Saturday, March 9th – a van that goes to the airport, and one that goes to San Jose (actual times to be decided closer to the retreat).

Travel insurance is required to protect you! If for any reason you have to cancel, and you are not eligible for a refund as stated in our policy found here, then travel insurance can ensure that you get your money back. We know this from experience – we have had a guest cancel at the last minute due to sickness, but thankfully their travel insurance covered the full cost of the retreat.

Our recommendation for attaining travel insurance is to use SquareMouth – it’s a website that allows you to compare insurance quotes from a bunch of different reputable companies to find the best coverage for you. Make sure to read the fine print, and determine for yourself how much coverage is necessary, including potentially upgrading to the option for “Cancel For Any Reason”. At the minimum, it should cover the cost of the retreat and your flights for an emergency situation (sickness, family emergancy, etc.)

If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to reach out at

Of course! Please let us know if you have any health restrictions and we will plan accordingly with our chef. All meals will be vegetarian friendly.

We offer early bird pricing until October 15th which is $100 off the price of retreat. A $500 deposit per person is charged at booking to hold your reservation, final payment of remaining balance is due by December 1st, 2023. The remaining balance will be automatically charged to your card on December 1st, 2023. After this date, full payment will be required at booking.

Please reference our refund and cancellation policy here. If you don’t qualify for a refund, contact your travel insurance provider if you have a qualified reason for canceling per your coverage agreement.

As the retreat gets closer, we will send out a packing guide with our recommendations for what you should bring, but if you want to get started now, think tropical rainforest + beach vibes.
